Dr. Clarke’s research interests encompass statistical methodology (with an emphasis on high dimensional and predictive methods), statistical computation, bioinformatics/computational biology, multi-type data analysis, data mining/machine learning, and bacterial genomics/metagenomics.

Senior Associate Dean for the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences

Joe Colletti, Ph.D., is the senior associate dean for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University and, the associate director of the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station. He has served in those positions since 2006. He oversees budgets, research and personnel for the college and Experiment Station. He also facilitates research planning and activities related to the bioeconomy and, in particular, development of Iowa State’s BioCentury Research Farm. His research areas focus on the economics of agroforestry, management of streamside buffer systems on farmland and biorenewable resources. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in forestry and natural resources economics, decision-making and management.

Mr. Bergstrom is the Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Manager at the University of North Dakota Computational Research Center where he directs high performance and big data activities for the university. He is the PI on the NSF BDSPOKES: Unmanned Aerial Systems, Plant Sciences and Education project.

Kurt Barnhart, Ph.D., currently holds the position of Associate Dean of Research and Outreach at Kansas State University - aka K-State Salina. His responsibilities include executive oversight of 2 research centers, research development and process management, advising on proposals and budgets, and helping connect researchers with funding opportunities and related research projects. Barnhart previously served as the Executive Director of the Applied Research Center where he developed what is now the leading collegiate unmanned aircraft applied research and educational program in the U.S. In conjunction with that he was also Professor and Head of the Department of Aviation, a role in which he helped make K-State's aviation program one of the finest in the USA
